Why You Need A Website

Your small business cannot and should not get by on social media alone. We have 5 reasons why you still need a website.

5 Reasons You Need a Website For Your Small Business

You need a website to connect your online presence.

Without a website it’s hard for consumers to connect with your brand.

1. Consumer Confidence

Consumers want to know that your business is in it for the long haul. The more resources used to build your brand furthers legitimacy in the eyes of consumers. If customers see that your online presence only exists through free services like social media then they will wonder what is going on. They will question if you’re going to be around in the future.

2. Search Engine Visibility

When consumers see your website in search results they know that they are connecting with your business. Anyone can start a Facebook page. Consumers can’t be certain if that page is really connected with your business. Additionally, having your site’s search results come up in addition to your Facebook page means that consumers have multiple ways to connect with you — and less for your competition. If you want consumers to easily find you then you need a website.

3. Brand Consistency

Having your own website means that you can do things your own way. You can make the site match your brand. You’re not tied into whatever Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or YouTube will let you do with the current layout.

Furthermore having your own site means that it will last. Consumers can lose interest in social networks at any given time. MySpace is a great example. It was one of the top sites in the US and now barely gets any traffic. If your brand only existed on MySpace all of those resources would have gone to waste. By having a website as the focal point that drives your branding, you have a solid foundation to build from.

4. Competition

Your competition most likely has a website. While you do want to stand out from your competition, doing it by lacking resources is not the way to go. You want to convince consumers to come to you because of your superior offerings or products. By missing key resources like a website, you’re letting potential new customers know that your competitors have more resources to offer.

5. Profit!

Whether or not your site engages in ecommerce, having a website will help you see a boost in revenue . The Small Business Administration found that businesses with websites average 1.07 million more in sales. That study came out about two years ago. Do you think sales have gone down in that time? I don’t think so. If you were on the fence about it before, that alone should tell you that you need a website.

Keep building your brand.
