We are pleased to announce updates to SiteBrandBuilder including a new editor, Chrome bookmark icons, and behind-the-scenes speed updates.
SiteBrandBuilder Update: The New Editor
This new editor is a huge change to our software. Making the content you’re editing look like your live site is one of the most important features to SiteBrandBuilder. It is what makes SiteBrandBuilder stand out from CMS software like WordPress. It’s one of the features that makes our CMS so easy to use. That feature is very important to us. But it always had a few limitations:
- Lists and tables looked slightly different compared to the live site.
- Downloadable fonts could not display within the editor.
Those limitations are gone. Additionally the new editor loads much faster, and puts less strain on the browser.
We’ve also made the HTML text displayed when you click on the Source Code easier to read. It now creates a new line when you create a new block level element like a paragraph or a header tag.
We tried to keep many of the buttons in a similar location to what you’re used to. The biggest difference is that all the table tags are now condensed to one button that expands when clicked. This let us save some space so we moved a few buttons around to cut down on dead space.
SiteBrandBuilder Update: Homescreen Bookmark Icons for Google Chrome
These same icons will give the same optimal experience in Firefox OS once they fix a bug.
SiteBrandBuilder Update: Other Updates
There are a few behind-the-scenes speed improvements we are making to our servers. Most sites today won’t see them. These improvements are rolling out periodically to sites over the next month or so. We are working with our hosting company for this which is what causes the delay.
We have made a few changes to our browser support list.
We no longer support:
- IE 7.
- Firefox 3.0.
- Safari 5.x.
We now recommend you upgrade if you are using the following browsers:
- IE 8.
- Firefox 3.5.
- Safari 6.
- Opera 11.
Friendly reminder to everyone out there, IE 8 is the last supported version of IE on Windows XP. Windows XP reaches end-of-life on April 8th. We recommend that you upgrade soon if you’re still on Windows XP.
We hope you enjoy these new updates. If you need assistance do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you and keep building your brand.
